Rio Tinto CEO: do not consider large-scale acquisitions in the lithium business, will seek to improv

Rio Tinto CEO Shi Dao Cheng (Jakob Stausholm) said on March 3, Rio Tinto will avoid "any large-scale acquisitions" to develop its lithium business, but will seek to improve lithium extraction technology.

Rio Tinto is developing Argentina Rincon brine lithium project, is expected to be put into production at the end of 2024, with an annual output of 3,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate. The lithium mine is an undeveloped large-scale lithium brine project, located in Argentina's Salta Province (Salta Province) lithium triangle core area. Previously, Rio Tinto to 825 million U.S. dollars to buy Argentina's Riken Salt Lake brine lithium mining project.
